Warung Mak Beng

They have only one item in the food menu, which is this rice set (as pictured). The set consisted of one chunk of fried fish with the special chili on the side, fish and english gourd oil soup, served with rice. Both tastes beautiful as the fish they used are always fresh. I like the simple taste of the fried fish and chili (special chili recipe!), while my partner prefers the rich-tasting fish soup. Open from 8.30am – 5pm. Busy on breakfast time, especially during weekends.

Location: Jl. Hang Tuah, Sanur (end of the road, before beach). One lane with Grand Bali Beach Hotel, turn from Dunkin Donuts Junction.

Price: IDR 28.000/set, drinks from IDR 3000 – up

I went there few months ago, and the fish soup was really fishy. I don’t think they used fresh fish.

Hey.. Yeah I heard the fish there has been not consistent. Anyway, I found a better place serving this soup and fried fish combo at Renon area, “Warung Be Sanur” at Jalan Tantular. Ate there a few times and so far always consistent. Open from 8am – 10pm.
